Sweet potato mash


1kg sweet potatoes, peeled and cut into 2cm chunks

½ tsp cayenne pepper

3 tbsp butter, at room temperature

½ cup light cream, at room temperature (half-and-half)

1 tsp (5ml) NON-CONCENTRATED* or ¼ tsp (1.25ml) CONCENTRATED Smoked Flavours European Beech liquid smoke

Salt & fresh ground black pepper to taste

*Our new less concentrated formulation, ideal for home cooking.


Boil the potatoes in a large pot of salted water for 12-15 minutes until fork tender.

Drain well and mash.

Add the salt, pepper, liquid smoke, cayenne, butter, and light cream. Mix until completely incorporated.
